Sub-Structure Waterproofing Complying to BIS 16471:2017 USING Mirai Rubberprufe (EPDM Membrane)
NBCC, in collaboration with their General Contractor JJRS Infra, is undertaking the construction of Phase 1 of a large-scale residential complex for the prestigious AIIMS West Campus at Ansari Nagar, New Delhi. This project aims to provide state-of-the-art residential facilities, ensuring a modern and sustainable living environment for AIIMS professionals and staff.
- Main Client: NBCC (India) Ltd
NBCC is a Govt. of India Civil Engineering Enterprise, NBCC with its Headquarter in Delhi, today, holds the status of Navratna CPSE, and has emerged as the undisputed leader in the Construction Sector on the back of its capabilities, innovative approach, adherence to highest standard of quality, timely delivery and a dedicated workforce. - Main Contractor: JJRS Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd.
Jai Ram Singh Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. (Civil Contractors & Engineers) is privately owned construction firm with a strong presence in DELHI & NCR., the business has grown rapidly since 1968, from Bokaro Steel City (Bihar).Since then it has come a long way in executing some of the most prestigious projects- in the process acquiring rich experience, exposure to and adoption of modern construction technology and a dedicated zeal and self-professed high objective of giving sustained high quality of workmanship, delivery of projects well within the scheduled period of completion required by highly exacting and demanding clients.
The goal of this application was to create a highly effective waterproofing barrier for sub-structure while also providing durability, protection, and effective drainage. This multi-layered system aimed to resist the challenges posed by varying weather conditions, mechanical stress, and chemical exposure.
For our ability to deliver a highly effective and durable solution for their substructure waterproofing requirements., NBCC required reliable & robust waterproofing treatment for sub-structure. The sub-structure design was based on EPDM membranes with Geotextile protection on both sides ensuring long-lasting performance in both waterproofing and durability. By utilizing the Mirai RubberPrufe-EPDM Membrane, we ensured long-term protection against water ingress, offering them Confidence and enhanced structural integrity.
- 200 GSM Geotextile-MIRAI GTX200 (First Layer):
- Purpose: The first geotextile layer serves as a regularization layer for Mirai Rubberprufe, EPDM Membrane.
- Material: Nonwoven geotextile made of polypropylene fibers, offering good tensile strength and permeability.
- EPDM Membrane-MIRAIRUBBERPRUFE (Second Layer):
- Purpose: The primary waterproofing barrier.
- Material: Synthetic rubber-based material, known for its excellent waterproofing properties.
- Function: EPDM membranes are durable, flexible, and resistant to UV radiation, ozone, and extreme weather conditions. They form a seamless barrier, ensuring long-term protection against water infiltration and leaks.
- 500 GSM Geotextile-MIRAI GTX500 (Third Layer):
- Purpose: The third geotextile layer offers additional protection and enhances drainage.
- Material: Similar to the first layer but with a heavier, denser fabric that improves mechanical protection and stress distribution.
- Function: 2nd layer of Mirai GTX to protect EPDM membrane from physical damage while laying rebars.
